Senior Citrix Engineer 

 

My client is a very well known global leader in the world of Finance. Located in Dublin city centre and offer a flexi hybrid model- 2 days at most a week onsite. 

You will be working as part of a Global Citrix team providing second / third level technical support across many business-critical applications in heterogeneous environments. 

You will be required to analyse existing release management and automation practices in use within the organisation, leading efforts to design and implement improvements in a production ready and scalable manner. You will need to demonstrate in-depth technical troubleshooting skills in resolving and providing long-term solutions to technical issues that may arise. 

You will work closely with various global IT and Business support teams providing subject matter expertise. This role will require very strong Citrix knowledge and troubleshooting skills as well as excellent communication skills in English.

 

The Global Citrix team deliver key infrastructure and applications to both internal employees and partners and external clients, around the globe. BAU activities for all, require that we deliver a stable and resilient service.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Administering Global CVAD LTSR Infrastructure
  • Administration, configuration and upgrading of Citrix NetScaler Components
  • Citrix Provisioning Services
  • New application installation and configurations on Citrix environment
  • Patching Citrix Windows Server OS systems
  • 3rd Party application patching (Adobe Acrobat, Java, Chrome. etc
  • Citrix Monitoring and dashboard improvements
  • Developing and maintaining Citrix operational support documentation and application configuration
  • Contribute to and maintain system/organisation standards.
  • Manage the On-boarding Function: Work with our Client Support teams to successfully on board clients.
  • Incident management:
    • Provide Level 2/3 troubleshooting to all daily issues, which arise on the Citrix global environment.
    • Provide Level 2/3 troubleshooting and support to Clients.
    • Major incident resolution and analysis

 

What we value for the role 

  • Knowledge of Netscaler infrastructure components
  • Strong knowledge of Citrix components, CVAD, Profile management, Storefront, PVS and WEM etc
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS server systems 2008 – 2019 and VMWare VSphere V7.x
  • Strong knowledge of AD environment
  • Understanding of monitoring and dashboard via the SPLUNK Tool
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Ability to coordinate activities with other groups
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to work in a fast-moving dynamic team-oriented environment
  • Assist in defining best practice and quality guidelines and standards
  • Excellent communications skills and strong team player mentality
  • Be a quick learner, having a strong attention to detail and a high level of self-motivation
  • Good customer relations
  • Excellent English Oral/Written language
  • Additional languages although not required would be a plus: French desirable.
  • Working in the finance sector is desirable but not required
  • Eligible to work in Ireland

 

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or another technical field, or equivalent
  • Citrix Certification – Mandatory
