Senior Financial Planning Analyst

About the Company
Senior Financial Planning Analyst Role with a leading city centre-based energy provider. Commercial opportunity with flexible hybrid working. Initially being offered on a one year fixed term contract with a strong view to extension.

About the Position
Reporting to the head of commercial Finance will have overall responsibility for developing accurate and timely cash forecasting and reporting. This role will also be tasked with developing actionable KPIs and insights to enable key stakeholders to make good decisions and objectively evaluate performance. This exciting high-profile position presents a fantastic opportunity to build links at various levels and work with numerous stakeholders across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & coordinate cash FP&A processes for annual strategic plan, annual budget, quarterly forecasting cycles and monthly updates; including consolidation and transfer of data to financial systems used in the reporting and forecasting process
  • Overhaul the planning, reporting and analysis of cash reporting and insight; driving a measurable improvement in forecasting accuracy and the quality of the existing reporting suite and actionable insights available to the team
  • Provide analysis on areas of performance across the business; providing insightful commentary and recommendations to enable management to drive margin and cash improvements
  • Challenge Business Leads to drive performance through cost reduction as well as revenue and cash enhancement
  • Deliver ad hoc strategic and operational projects as required
  • Liaise with Group Finance colleagues to leverage best practice, methodologies and tools.
Experience/Requirements
  • Commercially minded qualified accountant -ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA
  • 7-10 years’ experience within an FP& A function
  • Energy knowledge desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly at C-suite level
  • Experience with MS Office applications and SAP system an advantage but not necessary
