NPI Engineer – Manufacturing – Medical Devices

About the Company

We are currently working with a specialist engineering company who develop, design and manufacture medical devices for clients all over the world. Their main markets are the medical devices and aerospace sectors and their projects range is vast across the technical devices sectors. They are in a phase of expansion and require and specialist NPI Engineer who has experience in hi-tech equipment manufacturing.

About the Position

Working as an essential part of the Engineering team the NPI Development Engineer will be responsible for the development of mew business opportunities, the introduction of new designs and concepts to production, process analysis post production and providing clear and focused data on the performance of these processes and products. You will work closely with clients on what is required from a design stage right through to deliver and production. 


Within the role you will be involved in
 

  • New Product Introduction process from end to end.

  • Create new product details on the NPI stage rotation

  • Set-up new product through ERP system to ensure all processes are adhered to and recorded during product manufacture.

  • Organise the review of NPI parts with quality and work closely with the following teams; engineering, purchasing, planning and production.

  • Process analysis and improvement by analysing current process’s and identifying where improvements can be makes.

  • Continually seek to drive improvements in process design, layout and operational performance. 

  • Manage continuous improvement projects for cycle time, cost and defect

  • Reliability engineering and ensuring minimum downtime.

  • Ensure compliance to industry quality and environmental standards; develop and implement appropriate supporting documentation.

  • Work with the Operations planning lead to schedule the parts into production.



Experience/Requirements

For this role you are required to have

  • 5 years’ experience manufacturing

  • Experience with CNC machines and robotics

  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of the technical specification design function

  • Project Management experience

  • NPI in a technical environment

  • Process and Continuous Improvement experience.

  • Client facing experience
