Buyer – Construction

About the Company

One of Ireland’s fastest growing contractors (GC) based in Dublin, is currently looking to recruit a Buyer to work with their team and to contribute to the ongoing construction projects they have across Europe. This client are a specialist in the pharma and date centre sector and operate all across Europe. This will be a very active role for someone who is looking to work within a company that operates efficiently and effectively and maximises their cost return on construction projects. This role will help stream line an already efficient buying and procurement function and aid this company to excel on projects for their clients.

About the Position

In this role you will be involved in the buying team, managing projects and developing supply chains related to construction projects. This role will focus on managing efficiency improvements in the buying process. Working closely with the construction teams, you will identify process improvement and cost management saving opportunities to help the overall success of the facility.

Experience/Requirements 

Within this role you will be involved in

• Buying/Purchasing in relation to construction projects

• Supplier Management

• Manage the vendor selection process

• Manage external supplier to ensure best practice in supply

• Manage negotiations with vendors/suppliers

• Operational efficiencies across the supply chain function

• Manage the supply chain risk and improve sustainability across the function

For this role you are required to have;

• A min of 3 years buying experience.

• Experienced working in a construction environment  

• A strategic thinker and experience in purchasing

• Strong Negotiating skills

• Experience with SAP and Power BI

• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
