Senior Risk Associate 

About the Company

A leading multinational healthcare company based in Cork has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Risk Associate to join their team.

About the Position

The key objective is to maintain a robust Risk Management framework that is appropriate for the company. Provide oversight and challenge to all risk related activities and ensure effective implementation of processes and procedures, company policies and operating standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an effective Risk Management Framework to identify, assess, manage, monitor and report risks that the company is exposed to.
  • Collaborate with the business to ensure risks are reported, registers are maintained, risk issues and risk events/near misses are reported and ensure relevant Committees are kept appraised of changes in the profile of the risks particularly those which are near, or in breach of, risk appetite.
  • Drive the development of a risk culture to proactively mitigate risks, escalate issues in a timely manner and facilitate the identification of risk acceptances/acknowledgements aligned to risk appetite.
  • Prepare and present risk reporting in a timely manner on a quarterly basis for the Working Group, Steering Group, Control Forum, Audit & Risk Committee and Board.  
  • Perform annual Compliance Risk Assessment and Fraud Risk Assessments in addition to quarterly risk reporting to Group.   
  • Monthly Internal Audit action update reporting.
  • Deliver risk training to relevant stakeholders as required.
  • Scanning for emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Liaising with the Group risk functions to implement policies and procedures locally.

Experience/Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Risk/Compliance (ACOI, BOI etc)/Audit (ACA, ACCA, CPA etc) and experience of working in that field within the Financial Services industry (desirable 2-3 years for Associate level).
  • Solid working knowledge of the regulatory framework surrounding the insurance/intermediary industry and in particular the Central Bank of Ireland requirements.  
  • Desirable to have knowledge of Health Insurance products and relevant legislation governing the industry.
