Automation Test Engineer

About the Position
Are you a highly skilled and motivated Automation Test Engineer with experience of embedded systems and seeking an exciting opportunity?  This is an excellent opportunity to join a company in a major growth stage and to be part of a very high performing team. In this role you will be overseeing the entire software development life cycle, you will engage with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to innovative projects from conception to deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teams to define and implement testing strategies for complex and innovative projects.
  • Develop and execute test plans using a mix of automation and manual testing techniques.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, replicate problems, and help identify root causes and solutions.
  • Communicate potential issues (software, hardware, resources) to project managers and leadership.
  • Monitor and document testing activities, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.
  • Propose improvements to test coverage and methodology, contributing to overall efficiency.
  • Serve as the release gatekeeper, representing customer feedback and offering constructive insights.

Experience/Requirements
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5-8 years of experience in embedded software development, particularly in data centers, networking, security, cloud services, or automotive industries.
  • Strong background in test methodologies with hands-on experience in system-level testing of physical devices.
  • Proficient in Linux command line and shell scripting.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and cybersecurity practices.
  • Ability to review and challenge product requirements, designs, and specifications.
  • Experience developing and modifying Python scripts to improve test coverage.
  • Familiarity with designing and implementing test automation tools.
  • Knowledge of common test frameworks such as PyTest, Behave, or similar.
  • Experience with tools like Vector CANoe, VehicleSpy, PEAK, Spirent, IXIA, or similar.
  • Competency with tools such as JIRA and Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with automation certification standards and cloud-controlled embedded products (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
