Java Developer

12 Month Contract, Dublin, Hybrid

Our client is a leading financial services company based in Dublin city centre. They have an immediate requirement for a full stack Java developer for initially a 12 month daily rate contract.

• Collaborate with solutions architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather and define functional and technical requirements.
• Develop solutions using Angular (v14+) and Java (v17+) within an agile development framework, delivering features as outlined in sprint planning.
• Coordinate with architects and developers across multiple teams and locations to ensure consistent frameworks, technologies, and functionality.
• Build an understanding of the organization’s development frameworks and core application architecture by working closely with architects, developers, and analysts.
• Develop new applications as part of projects and perform maintenance and enhancements on existing systems.
• Provide third-level support and resolve issues as needed.

Technical Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related IT discipline.

• Extensive experience developing web applications using Angular (v14+), Java (v17+), Spring Boot, TypeScript, JavaScript, SCSS, and API frameworks.

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in server-side application development, object-oriented design (OOD), and working with design patterns.

• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts such as classes, objects, interfaces, inheritance, encapsulation, and polymorphism.

• Experience with RESTful Web Services architecture.

• Proficiency with CI tools, including Maven, Git, Jenkins, Sonar, and Docker.

• Extensive experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL Server, or Oracle.

Additional Skills:

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels across global locations.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Experience in managing global projects involving teams in multiple locations.
