Senior Legal Cashier

About the Company

My client, based in Central Dublin, are an international law firm with a focus on helping organisations being changed by technology and the digital world.  They are looking to add to their team a Senior Legal Cashier who will work with other global members of the accounts team providing support on various accounting and administrative tasks.
 

About the Position

This Senior Legal Cashier role will focus on cashiering, client account management, compliance with Law Society regulations, accounts payable, and monthly reporting for their Dublin office. You will report to both the London Cashier Manager and the Dublin Finance Manager, collaborating with global team members on various accounting and administrative tasks.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily banking transactions, including receipts and payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and client ledgers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions.
  • Maintain accurate client account records in compliance with Law Society regulations.
  • Process client disbursements and transfers.
  • Handle client account queries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure adherence to Law Society Accounts Rules and other relevant regulatory procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Process invoices and payments to suppliers.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Manage and resolve accounts payable queries.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly financial reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of reporting procedures.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries promptly

Experience/Requirements

  • Extensive previous cashiering and client accounts experience within a law firm is essential.
  • In-depth working knowledge of the Law Society Accounts Rules and other regulatory procedures specific to law firms.
  • Proficiency in finance systems, including Aderant, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, with a track record of effectively managing client and partner relationships in a legal environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently

Remuneration Package

  • Salary €60,000-€65,000
