Senior Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

My client is a dynamic and growing collection of, bars, located in the heart of Dublin City Centre. They are passionate about providing exceptional experiences for their customers.

About the Position

They are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial transactions for their group. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper looking for a flexible, part-time role with significant autonomy. The position will be primarily remote, requiring only one day in our central Dublin office every two weeks (maximum) for essential tasks and team meetings.
 

Key Responsibilities

Full Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage all aspects of the bookkeeping process, including but not limited to:
  • Processing invoices and payments (both accounts payable and receivable).
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
  • Managing petty cash and expense claims.
Financial Reporting:
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Providing relevant financial data to management as required.
  • Preparing VAT returns and other statutory filings.
Compliance and Procedures:
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Maintaining and improving internal financial controls and procedures.
Supplier and Customer Management:
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding invoices and payments.
  • Managing customer accounts and chasing outstanding payments.

Experience/Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) working as a bookkeeper, ideally within the hospitality sector but not essential
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular)..
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.  
  • A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., IATI, ACCA Technician) is desirable but not essential with demonstrable experience.

Work Schedule:
  • Part-Time: 4 days per week (specific days to be agreed)
  • Hybrid: Primarily remote work with a requirement to be present in our central Dublin office for one day every two weeks maximum
 

Remuneration Package

Salary:
  • €45,000 - €50,000
