Senior Financial Accountant
Company Overview
:
Senior Financial Accountant Role with a leading city centre-based energy provider. Great opportunity with flexible hybrid working. Initially being offered on a fixed term contract basis with a view to extension.
Role Purpose
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to meet regulatory and internal requirements. Manage the monthly accounting process, including financial consolidation and variance analysis. Support statutory and regulatory reporting and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
• Oversee the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial schedules and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse financial performance, identifying and addressing variances.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and consolidation process.
• Address technical accounting queries and ensure compliance with IFRS.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, leveraging tools like Microsoft Power Suite.
• Support M&A activities and capital project financial requirements.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with management and cross-functional teams.
Person Specification
• Strong technical accounting background with a keen eye for detail.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with a collaborative approach.
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Suite (Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
