Software Engineering Manager

About the Company
Our client, a US based international software company, require a Software Engineering Manager to lead a strong development team in their new offices in Dublin. The team spans Dublin and two other European countries as well as a resource in India. This is a very fast-growing company with excellent potential to grow further over the coming years. They have chosen Dublin as their new R&D center and there is excellent potential with this role.
About the Position
The core focus of this role is to manage the development team through people management, code reviews and setting standards.
Key Responsibilities

Manage, mentor, and grow a global engineering team.

Define, implement, and oversee development processes to ensure high-quality and on-time product delivery.

Set standards for code quality, reliability, and maintenance.

Conduct design and code reviews.

Work with product managers and technical program managers to set development priorities and manage project scopes.

Represent the engineering team in customer engagements, gather and analyze customer requirements, and drive solutions.
Experience/Requirements
-
A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field. MS/PhD degrees are preferred.

10+ years of hands-on software development experience with a strong foundation in system architecture and clean code.

4+ years of experience in managing a software development team with direct reports.
-
4+ years of experience in a technical lead or architect role.
-
Experience in managing engineers located in multiple countries.

Experience in managing multiple parallel projects.
-
A track record in planning, developing, and delivering embedded software products.

Experience in partnering with product managers and technical program managers.

Proficiency in C++ and Python.

Expertise in debugging complex software in Linux or similar environments.

Experience in application development on Linux or similar operating systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
