The
Senior Reinsurance Accountant
is responsible for processing reinsurance reports from brokers and cedants, managing cash flow related to reinsurance contracts, and ensuring timely and accurate responses to internal and external reporting requests. This role is critical in maintaining financial accuracy and meeting stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Treaty Account Management
Review, analyse, and maintain accurate records for complex treaty accounts.
Process contingent commissions, sliding scale commissions, retrospective rate adjustments, and premium adjustments.
Ensure all data is accurately captured and processed within agreed timeframes.
Facilitate timely payments for assigned accounts.
Automation & Process Improvement:
Support B2B and EDI processes to enhance automation within the team.
Work towards increasing efficiency and reducing manual processing.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
Manage complex treaty accounts, prepare financial reports, and analyse statistics.
Collaborate with claims teams to track large loss movements and report to senior management.
Conduct bi-weekly bank reconciliations, ensuring alignment between bank statements and recorded transactions.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external clients.
Liaise with various departments to resolve queries effectively.
Coordinate with outsourcing units to manage portfolio control and address any discrepancies.
Quarterly & Ad Hoc Reporting:
Assist the Team Lead in reviewing premium estimates and coordinating adjustments.
Support quarterly cash call analysis and outstanding cash call credit follow-ups.
Participate in reporting requests and ad hoc projects as required
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong understanding of reinsurance principles, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience using SICS software
Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Renumeration package:
€75,000-€85,000 plus bonus healthcare, pension.
