About the Company
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional in the insurance sector looking to expand their expertise beyond accounting into a broader role encompassing financial planning, risk management, and company secretarial oversight. The position operates within a dynamic business spanning both Ireland and the UK, covering both retail and B2B sectors. This insurer is based in Dublin city centre and have hybrid working.
This is a hands-on, outcome-driven role, leading a small team of accounts assistants to ensure effective financial operations
.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement financial processes, including revenue recognition, commission calculations and payments, and expense management (payroll and overheads), with robust financial controls.
Lead financial planning, including the preparation of annual budgets and three-year strategic plans for both business entities.
Maintain financial ledgers, oversee the preparation of management information (MI), manage debtors and creditors, ensure tax compliance, and oversee the preparation of financial statements and audit processes.
Manage regulatory reporting to the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Oversee company secretarial duties (with statutory company secretary responsibilities outsourced).
Monitor financial controls across other business functions, particularly within insurance operations, covering premium collection, claims payments, and reconciliations of premium debtor and client money accounts.
Experience/Requirements:
Qualified accountant with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience (PQE) in the insurance sector.
Proven ability to lead and manage financial teams, ensuring strong financial control and reporting in the life and/or non-life insurance sector (preferably within an insurance intermediary).
In-depth knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks for insurance intermediaries in Ireland and the UK.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with financial general ledger systems.
Strong experience in managing the preparation and audit of financial statements for a group of companies.
Understanding of compliance and risk management frameworks within the retail and B2B insurance intermediary sector.
Remuneration Package:
€90,000-€100,000 plus excellent benefits
