What was your background before Brightwater?
I worked for 7 years in insurance across Sales, Learning & Development and Sales Management

What made you think about a career in recruitment?
I enjoy meeting people and selling  

What was the process like?
Long but worthwhile in the end. Gave a lot of insight as to what the nuts and bolts of the role would be. It was reassuring to know that not just anyone was getting in.

What skills do you think have helped you most as a recruitment consultant?
I would say my listening skills, my ability to roll up my sleeves and get stuck in, and my empathy.

Now having worked as recruitment consultant, how does the role differ from what you expected?
I was surprised at the level of freedom regarding structuring my own day and it has been interesting to move to more of a “slow burn” sale within recruitment from the “instant hit” of insurance sales.
